Steven Mercieca
One of the latest entrepreneurs to tap into Malta’s growing real estate market, Steven Mercieca is using his influence to not only launch Malta into the global spot light but to give back to the less fortunate in a major way. He co-founded Quicklets, an agency that focuses on rental markets, in 2013. In 2015, Zanzi Homes was founded, and located residential properties with greater ease and efficiency as ever before. Mr. Mercieca went on to become Chief Executive Officer of Zanzi Homes and Quicklets in 2017, and the companies have since exploded in the Maltese real estate business. With numerous locations across Malta, Zanzi Homes and Quicklets supply not only gorgeous living spaces but retain the cultural and aesthetic integrity of Malta, where so much of its history is built. Rather than building new infrastructures, Mercieca and his team endeavour to use the material that is already available and reinforce it with a modern twist, much like the trajectory of Malta in the modern world. As they expand at an incredible pace, the Zanzi Home and Quicklets team have maintained their values of transparency, honesty and humility. In addition to the clear skill of the team, there are other incentives available for Maltese people to choose Mercieca’s business. Along with their real estate expertise, the Zanzi Home and Quicklets team have supplied 300 children in Ghana with internet for a year, in addition to 120 new books and, a staple Maltese favourite, Twistees. Zanzi Homes also launched a new initiative that plants a tree for each house sold, aptly named #Treedom. In this way, Mercieca uses his entrepreneurial influence on bettering the lives of others, something that people in positions of power across the world are implored to take heed of. This policy of giving back is not just good business; it is a clear lesson to other growing and established entrepreneurs that one can be successful while also helping the less fortunate. Mr. Merceica is also showing rest of the world the values of Maltese business and sense of community.
