Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata
Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata has been President of the Maltese Association of the Soverign Military Order of Malta (MASMOM) since 2015. The Order of Malta has been in existence since 1041 and the Crusades, where the knights brought medical aid to the soldiers in Jerusalem. Since that time, the Order has become a global force for good, leading by their motto “defense of the faith and assistance to the poor, the suffering and the sick”. The Order might be notorious for their ceremonious activities however they give aid to over 120 different countries across the world regardless of religion, gender or creed. His Excellence Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata wears many hats besides presidency of MASMOM. He is the director of operations at Drugsales Ltd, one of the largest suppliers or medical supplies and products to Malta’s Ministry of Health. This family company is over six generations old and reflects the importance of familial ties in Maltese culture. He is a member of the Malta Community Chest Find, and a member of Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise along with membership and a previous presidency of the Rotary club. He was Chancellor of MASMOM under three administrations and currently is the director of the association that sends nearly 7,000 people of all ethnicities on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. His Excellence also supports a number of different philanthropic organizations, including the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers. By having ties with this organization, his Excellence has set the tone for how refugees and those seeking asylum should be welcomes to Malta; Malta has always been a meeting ground of those escaping or seeking refuge from a harmful force. His Excellence continues that legacy by encouraging others to maintain the ideals of charity and sanctuary noted in the Catholic faith. By using the connections forged across the world, and their status of diplomacy, his Excellence and the MASMOM are able to help others beyond boarders, strengthen the ties of the global community and develop skills of aid. Some of the countries and locations that the Order focuses their efforts are the Philippines, Myanmar, Africa and the Middle east.
