This accolated company began in 1929, and has become a staple part of Maltese culture and community. Mr. Louise Farrugia was the former Chief Executive Officer of Farsons Group and the son of the founder of CISK, Lewis V Farrugia. Mr. Farrugia took the business his father started and raised it to become the main distributor of beer in Malta, while simultaneously packaging Maltese history. CISK began some years before World War II yet established itself as a household name while the British occupied Malta. CISK catered to the English forces and soon, the company learned how to develop their beer with the taste and flavors that reminded the soldiers of home. By adhering to a taste the soldiers were accustomed to, CISK began to form itself as an adaptable and global company, ready to take on the challenges of new market. Over the years, CISK has expanded into those markets, with news recipes that reflect the evolving world. The company is determined to branch out into of the Mediterranean and have already exported successfully, not only to Italy but to Australia, China, South Korea, the UK and America. Their lagers are even available on Amazon. Throughout the 79 years they have been in business, the values of the CISK company have remained the same and reflect the strength, unity, ingenuity and community of the Maltese people. CISK places a large ideal of transparency on themselves, along with commandments of respect, adaptability, fellowship and resourcefulness. While other distillery companies have migrated to Malta and find a profitable market, CISK has remained at the forefront of Maltese commerce and the company has kept up with a modern audience and clients. Like the vast history of Malta, CISK’s legacy is one of their most esteemed principles and the once small family operated business still maintains their original ideals despite how greatly the company has grown. Mr. Farrugia has kept his father’s ethics of how a business should be conducted and CISK has served as an example for other Maltese companies, instilling values of loyalty, community and legacy.
